Simmons Foods

Construction is well underway on the $300+ million production facility north of Gentry.  This facility will employ about 2300 employees at full capacity by 2022.  The design will feature modern production facilities and contemporary office space supported with best-in-class environmental technologies. The facility is scheduled to open in the fall of 2019.

Historic Main Street Building to Undergo Restoration

The Arkansas Department of Heritage has granted $94,691 to the Gentry Chamber of Commerce to renovate the historic Gentry Bank Building on Main Street in Gentry.  The building, built in 1904, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been the office of the Gentry Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Gentry for about 15 years.  The grant funds will be used to replace the roof structure and repair the ornate limestone and brick facade.   The building is owned by the Rai, Railey and Nina Steele Civic Endowment.
